MIDDLE SCHOOL ROUNDUP: Battle’s 22 points pace Vikings past Wildcats

Christian Battle dropped in 22 points to lead Elm City’s boys basketball team to a 55-49 victory over Springfield on Monday.

Ty’rell Boykin added 13 points for the Vikings, now 4-5. The Wildcats (2-7) were led by Shannon Atkinson with 14 points while Daidien Sutton scored 10 points. Ziyear Barnes and Desten Melvin each scored nine points.

The Wildcats will visit Forest Hills on Tuesday while the Vikings head to Speight.

 

WCA Blue defeats Alamance

Hailey Carnes led the way with 10 points Monday afternoon in helping the Wilson Christian Blue girls basketball team to a 27-16 conquest of Alamance Christian.

The Lady Chargers (4-6) received six points from Reagan Barnes. Ellyn Watson tallied five and Patsy Price had four.

Wilson Christian is home to Raleigh Christian on Tuesday.

 

United turns back Cyclones 44-25

The DASH Homeschool boys basketball team racked up a 45-25 victory Monday over host Community Christian in Williamson Gym on the Eastern North Carolina School for the Deaf campus.

Ben Wall and Ryan Lambert each netted eight points and M.J. Harris tallied seven to lead United to its ninth win against eight losses.

Ayden Smith had eight points to lead the Cyclones (0-8).

CCS will visit The Oakwood School in Greenville on Tuesday while DASH welcomes South Wake on Tuesday.

 

Lady Vikings foiled by Springfield

The Elm City girls basketball team dropped a 26-16 decision to Springfield on Monday afternoon.

Elm City (3-5) visits Speight on Tuesday at 4 p.m.
