Breiholz, Nobody’s Fool earn Senior Pony Champion at 4-H regional show

Fresh off their achievement of Senior Pony Champion in the North Carolina 4-H Eastern Regional Qualifying Horse Show, Tess Breiholz of Wilson and her 10-year-old Welsh Pony/Paint Horse cross, Nobody’s Fool, competed in the N.C. State 4-H Horse Show in High Point last week.

Tess, a 14-year-old Fike High student, and her pony, nicknamed “Margo,” posted fifth-place finishes in Hunter Pony Showmanship in Hand and Hunt Seat Equitation Over Fences in the Senior Hunter Pony division. The duo also earned points in the Working Pony Hunter Over Fences and Bridle Path Hack competitions and finished third in Dressage, a non-qualifying event.

In the Eastern Regional show May 6 in Williamston, Tess, who has been competing in 4-H horse shows for seven years, and Nobody’s Fool posted the top score in Senior Hunter Pony Over Fences competition.

The daughter of Leanne and Brian Breiholz of Wilson, Tess competes with the Blue Ribbon Bandits 4-H Club of Wayne County. She is trained by Carrie Everhart.
