Chargers fire away, scorch Alamance 67-45

GRAHAM — Bolstered by a 52-percent showing from the field and a 13-for-18 display in the third quarter, the Wilson Christian varsity boys basketball team placed a pleasurable bow on its regular season Tuesday night on the road with a 67-45 victory over Alamance Christian.

WCA (16-12) of the North Carolina Christian School Association 2-A District 3 ranks picked up 25 points from senior David Peele, who knocked down five 3-pointers. Taking a 32-25 lead into halftime, WCA blistered Alamance in the third quarter with a 27-point display and led 59-37 entering the final quarter.

Senior Jay Grissom tallied a double-double of 10 points and 10 rebounds as Zach Hunter, a junior, had 10 points and eight assists. Senior Joel Attoe was the fourth Charger in double figures, netting 11 points.

The Chargers begin play in the NCCSA 2-A playoffs Friday night, hosting Greenville Christian.
