A Wilson County man faces several sex offense charges involving an 11-year-old alleged victim.
On Tuesday, the Wilson County Sheriff’s Office arrested 33-year-old James Williams and charged him with two counts of taking indecent liberties with a child, five counts of committing a statutory sexual offense and a charge of disseminating obscenity.
The disseminating obscenity charge stems from Williams allegedly showing the victim pornography on several occasions, mainly on a cellphone, according to Wanda Samuel, sheriff’s office chief of staff.
Samuel said the arrest followed an investigation after incidents were reported to the sheriff’s office in September.
Williams, of 6215 Coachlight Road outside Elm City, was jailed under a $250,000 secured bond.
