Lara Jordan Peterson of Wilson and Carson Elliott Davis of Wake Forest were married in a 4:30 p.m. ceremony Aug. 11 at Millbrook United Methodist Church of Raleigh. The Rev. Mike Frese and Dr. John Stokes, grandfather of the bride, officiated the ceremony.
The bride is the daughter of Pete and Lou Ann Peterson of Wilson. She is the granddaughter of John and MaLou Stokes of Wilmington, Evelyn Peterson of Wilmington and the late Wilbert J. Peterson of Wilmington. Parents of the groom are Parker and Helen Davis of Wilson. He is the grandson of Emily Davis and the late Gordon Davis of Eureka and the late Melvin and Sarah Jones of Pikeville.
The bride graduated from Fike High School and East Carolina University with a bachelor of science degree in nursing. She is employed as a nurse at Wake Medical Center in Raleigh. The groom graduated from Fike High School and North Carolina State University with a bachelor of science degree in biological sciences with a minor in microbiology. He is currently a second-year student in the doctor of physical therapy program at Duke University.
The bride was escorted by her father.
Sarah Evelyn Peterson, sister of the bride, of Wilmington, served as maid of honor. Bridesmaids were Meghan Boswell of Asheville, Emily Boyette of Raleigh, Suzanne Herring of Raleigh, Allison Oakey of Asheville and Allison Crumpton of Yanceyville.
The groom’s father served as best man.
Groomsmen were Jacob Davis, brother of the groom, of Washington, D.C., Jonathan Davis, brother of the groom, of Chapel Hill, Dr. Eric Davis, brother of the groom, of Chapel Hill, Spencer Peterson, brother of the bride, of Wilmington and Cole Peterson, brother of bride, of Wilson.
Following the ceremony, a reception was hosted by parents of the bride at River Ridge Golf Club in Raleigh.
A rehearsal dinner was hosted by the parents of the groom at 1705 East in Raleigh on the eve of the wedding.
A bridal brunch was held at the couple’s new home in Wake Forest hosted by family of the bride.
A groom’s luncheon was held at Brewmasters in Wilson hosted by friends of the groom’s family.
After a wedding trip to the Caribbean, the couple will reside in Wake Forest.
