Lalia Allan, second from left, is pictured with Paul Farris, left, her mother, Denise Allan, and grandmother Judy Zampella after receiving the North Carolina 4-H Farris Pass It On scholarship. Allan is a member of the New Hope 4-H Club and is attending the East Carolina University School of Business. The Farris scholarship is awarded to a 4-H member from Wilson County on the basis of 4-H leadership and academic achievement while in high school. Paul Farris, who was recently elected president of the N.C. Association of ABC Boards, established the $500 scholarship to honor a Wilson 4-H’er at the state level. Jessica Harris, Wilson County 4-H and youth development agent, said Farris is “a huge supporter of 4-H and the N.C. Cooperative Extension.” Contributed Photo
