Rising juniors Christian Phaby of Hunt High and Darntrell Council of SouthWest Edgecombe were selected to participate in the Blue-Grey All-American Super Combine on June 3-4 in Richmond, Virginia.

The Richmond combine is one of 23 regional combines operated by Blue-Grey Football that gives select high school prospects a chance to work out in front of experienced scouts.

Phaby played offensive line and defensive end for the Warriors last season. The 6-foot-1, 283-pounder made 30 tackles, including two sacks. Phaby’s 5.01 time in the 40-yard dash tied for third out of nine defensive linemen.

Council, a 5-9, 177-pounder, also played both ways for the Cougars last fall. His time in the 40-yard dash — 4.53 seconds — ranked No. 7 out of 55 combine participants and his 9-8 broad jump tied for fourth overall.
