Police are investigating a shooting that injured a man in the parking lot of Pizza Hut Tuesday morning.
Around 10:48 a.m., officers responded to the 1702 Glendale Drive restaurant regarding a person who had been shot. When police arrived, they found 21-year-old Connie J. Jenkins suffering from several gunshot wounds to his hands, according Sgt. Steve Stroud.
Stroud said Jenkins had been shot by an unknown man while in the parking lot of Pizza Hut. Jenkins was transported to Vidant Medical Center in Greenville for his injuries.
Stroud said those injuries did not appear to be life-threatening.
“After conducting a preliminary investigation, it’s been determined that the incident wasn’t related to Pizza Hut,” Stroud said.
Police are still looking for the suspect in the shooting they describe as a black man with a beard and mustache wearing a black hoodie and black shorts.
Wilson Medical Center was on lock down for about 30 minutes, hospital officials said.
