Album release parties are planned Friday and Saturday for local rock band Matty Begs’ fourth EP, a five-song disc titled “Wait For It.”

Matty Begs will perform Friday at Brewmasters of Wilson, 2117 Forest Hills Road, and Saturday at Brewmasters of Goldsboro, 2402 E. Ash St. Both shows are from 7-10 p.m. and there will be no cover charge.

The band will distribute free copies of “Wait For It” to those in attendance during the CD release shows. The disc was recorded, mixed and mastered at Thread Audio in Raleigh.

With roots in Wilson and Rocky Mount, Matty Begs formed in the spring of 2012 and is known for acoustic-electric party rock. Members cite the Dave Matthews Band, Jason Mraz, Jack Johnson, Counting Crows and Sublime as musical influences.

Live shows consist of original music and cover songs infused with Matty Begs’ “funky, upbeat style.”

After celebrating the EP release, Matty Begs plans to embark on a regional and Southeast tour promoting “Wait For It.”

The EP will be available online at www.mattybegs.com and on iTunes, Amazon and Spotify.
