A stormy forecast Monday morning has led the Wilson Committee on Patriotism to move the annual Memorial Day ceremony indoors.
The ceremony will still begin at 10 a.m. Monday, but it will be located inside city council chambers, city hall, 112 Goldsboro St.
Attendees can park for free in the lots next to and behind city hall and enter the building through the alley entrance, then take the stairs or elevator to the third floor.
The ceremony will be broadcast live on Wilson’s Channel 8 on Greenlight and Spectrum’s systems.
Monday is a federal and local holiday. City offices are closed, all garbage and recycling routes will be delayed until Tuesday, and Tuesday routes are similarly delayed one day.
