The Opportunities Industrialization Center of Wilson will hold its quarterly emergency food distribution at 8 a.m. Wednesday.
The program will be held at the organization’s headquarters at 801 Reid St. E. Food will be distributed until all is given away.
Qualified applicants on fixed incomes, those receiving public assistance and Wilson County residents are welcome to attend.
Items that will be distributed to each qualified applicant include turkey breast, fish fillets, catfish, pinto beans, small red dry beans, blueberries, pears, potatoes, veggie mix, cereal, grape juice, apple juice, milk, sweet potatoes, bacon and assorted pastries.
During this quarter’s distribution, free confidential health screenings for health disparities including diabetes, high blood pressure and communicable diseases will be provided.
This is an all-volunteer project. The OIC of Wilson offers job training and assistance to meet community needs through a variety of programs.
