Police are working to identify a man accused of breaking into a woman’s Wilson home and forcing her to withdraw cash from a bank machine.

Officers were dispatched to the 100 block of Garwin Drive at 4:11 a.m. Saturday. When police arrived, they spoke to a 26-year-old woman who said an unknown man broke into her home, forced her to drive to a local ATM and withdraw money, according to the Wilson Police Department.

The woman also told police the man was armed with a knife. After the robber received money from the ATM, he dropped her off on the 1700 block of Tarboro Street and fled the area with her car, police said.

The woman’s vehicle was found on Monday in the 1200 block of Aycock Street, police said.

The woman had no physical injuries, according to authorities.

Police describe the suspect as a black man who is between 5 feet, 7 inches and 5 feet, 8 inches tall, weighs 130-140 pounds and was wearing a black ski mask and black gloves.

Police ask anyone with information on the incident or the kidnapper’s identity to call the Wilson Police Department at 252-399-2323 or Crime Stoppers at 252-243-2255.
