A Wilson man faces multiple charges after police seized guns and drugs from his New Street home.

Police arrested 41-year-old Bruce Lee Gaskins on several charges including two counts of possession of a firearm by felon, possession with intent to sell and deliver marijuana and maintaining a dwelling to keep and sell a controlled substance.

On Feb. 8, the Wilson Police Department’s Narcotics Division executed a search warrant at Gaskins’ 602 New St. home.

Authorities seized a .45 caliber handgun, a .22 caliber handgun, 25 vape pipes, more than 1,500 grams of marijuana, 12 grams of THC candy, 415 grams of THC oils and other drug paraphernalia, according to Capt. Jeff Boykin, who is over the department’s Special Operations Division.

THC, or tetrahydrocannabinol, is the psychoactive chemical that gives pot users a “high.”

“We believe that Gaskins was a major supplier of a current trend of THC oils being utilized in vapor electronic cigarettes,” Boykin said. He said other charges are pending after results of laboratory testing.

Boykin said Gaskins was arrested on Hill Street two days before police executed the search warrant. Authorities say he had 19 grams of marijuana. He was charged with possession with intent to sell and deliver marijuana.

Boykin said Gaskins received a $1,500 bond for that charge.
