Steve Brown shared this photo originally provided to The Wilson Times by Barry Lamm showing Wilson’s Starlite Drive-In reduced to splinters after Hurricane Hazel struck eastern North Carolina on Oct. 15, 1954. “With all the hurricanes in the news, it brings back memories of Hurricane Hazel,” Brown wrote on his Wilson NC Movie Memories Facebook page. “The Starlite didn’t make it through in one piece.” The Wilson Times is publishing historical photos of Wilson County life and landmarks in this space each day. To share your snapshots, email the picture and caption to Lori Parrish at email@example.com with the subject line Remember When or bring it to the Times office at 126 Nash St. W. during regular business hours.
