Allison Christi Lucas of Elm City and Matthew Gregory Stancil of Kenly were married Feb. 18 in a 4 p.m. ceremony at The Farm in Selma. Greg Stancil officiated.

The bride is the daughter of Christi Lucas of Wilson and the late Albert Lucas III. She is the granddaughter of the late A.J. and Rosa Lucas of Wilson and Ruthe Farmer of Wilson and the late Cuyler Farmer. She graduated from Wilson Christian Academy and Liberty University with a degree in health promotion and fitness. She is employed with BB&T as a QM analyst.

Parents of the groom are Greg and Mary Stancil of Kenly. He is the grandson of Delton and Lois Joyner of Elm City and Jeff Stancil of Grifton and Jean Ferrell of Lucama. He graduated from Charles B. Aycock High School and Wayne Community College with a degree in forest management. He is employed with the N.C. Forest Service as an orchard manager.

Escorted by her mother, the bride wore an ivory trumpet lace wedding gown fashioned with a V neckline, soft straps and empire waist with a chapel train. She carried a bouquet of handtied white hydrangeas, blush pink roses and spray roses.

Tiana Garland was matron of honor. Bridesmaids were Tiffany Purdy, Meredith Martin, Madison Edwards, Peyton Zino, Megan Gay, Janna Issette, Kristen Melvin and Heather Krueger. They wore navy gowns featuring a lace bodice.

Flower girls were Jada Purdy and Lucy Martin. They wore ivory lace, sleeveless knee-length dresses.

Daniel Stancil, brother of the groom, served as best man.

Groomsmen were Justin Lancaster, Marcus Pennington, Philip Pennington, Chris Rook, Adam Thornton, Trent Pilkington and Brad Peele.

Ring bearer was Jude Purdy.

Register attendants were Amber Stancil and Kasey Pittman.

Wedding director was Meredith Davis.

Wedding music was by Jenny Hartsell and Marcus Pennington, vocalists. They sang “Take My Hand” and “Two Becoming One.”

The wedding cake was made and cut by Peggy Batts.

Following the ceremony, the bride’s mother hosted a reception at The Farm.

A rehearsal dinner was hosted by the parents of the groom at Parkside Cafe in Pine Level on the eve of the wedding. Earlier in the day, a bridesmaids luncheon was given at Something Different, hosted by Dianne Pittman, Cindy Edwards and Kim Zino.

Since their return from a wedding cruise to Cayman Islands, Cozumel, Belize and Mahogany Bay, they are living in Elm City.

Pre-nuptials

Oct. 22: An engagement party was hosted by Janna Issette and Megan Gay.

Jan. 21: A bridal shower was given by the bride’s family.

Feb. 4: A couple’s shower was hosted by the groom’s family.
