The Team Power Foundation and SideKix will hold a Thanksgiving potluck from 5-7 p.m. Wednesday at St. John AME Zion Church, 119 N. Pender St.

Organizers said they’re collaborating with St. John AME Zion to provide an open-invitation free community meal for residents of the Wilson area.

“Our purpose is to be an inspiration for our youth by setting the example of compassion toward others,” said Jeremy Jeffers, CEO of the nonprofit Team Power Foundation, which is affiliated with the Power Plex Athletic Center and aims to make the Wilson community a better place to live.

SideKix is a local nonprofit that promotes inclusion through friendships of individuals with special needs and disabilities with typically developing peers or friends.

Businesses, individuals and families who’d like to donate a dish to the potluck are asked to email teampowerfoundation@gmail.com to help organizers ensure enough food will be available.
