Haley Marie Craig and David Scott Via, both of Norfolk, Virginia, were married in a 1 p.m. ceremony Nov. 11 at St. Catherine of Siena Catholic Church in Wake Forest. Monsignor David Brockman officiated.

The bride is the daughter of Stephen and Virginia Craig of Raleigh. She is the granddaughter of the late Raymond F. and Dorothy A. Jonczak and the late Edward J. and Jeanne M. Craig. She graduated from St. Thomas More Academy and North Carolina State University with a Bachelor of Science degree in electrical engineering. She is employed with Huntington Ingalls Industries — Newport News Shipbuilding, as a systems engineer.

Parents of the groom are Michael and Mary Sargent of Wilson and Dr. B. Scott Via of Wilson. He is the grandson of Conrad and Anne Odden of Wilson, Richard and Mary Sargent of Greenville, South Carolina, and Harrison and Mary Lou Givens of Lancaster, Pennsylvania. The groom graduated from McCallie School in Chattanooga, Tennessee, and North Carolina State University with a Bachelor of Science degree in civil engineering. He is a division officer with operation intelligence with the U.S. Navy.

Escorted by her father, the bride wore a Stella York gown fashioned with a scalloped lace keyhole back and lace over matte-side lustre satin in a modified A-line silhouette complemented by soft sequin sparkle and floral patterned lace. The kissing scallop back with illusion lace was accented by delicate pearl buttons. The train was finished by a wide lace trim and featured a cut-out that brings attention to the dramatic details of the lace. The walking-length veil of English net was enhanced with crystal beading along the edges.

The bouquet was a selection of white roses, white Lisianthus, winter white tulip, and eucalyptus.

Erin Tooley of Apex and Katie Freer of Goldsboro were maids of honor. Bridesmaids were Siobhan McGough of Raleigh and Katie Burbules and Mary Beth Burbules of Erie, Pennsylvania. They wore navy blue, long dresses fashioned with a keyhole neckline and accented with beads along the collar.

Jonathan T. Wu served as best man. Groomsmen were William H. Via of High Point and Eric M. Via of Macon, Georgia, brothers of the groom; Daniel Craig of Raleigh, brother of the bride; and Reed Wells of Macon.

Director was Ann Garret.

Wedding music was provided by organist Brenda Rebilas, music director for St. Catherine of Siena, and vocalist Becky Gross.

Following the ceremony, a reception was hosted by the bride’s parents at Dorothy and Roy Park Alumni Center.

A rehearsal dinner was hosted by parents of the groom at the Farm Table on the eve of the wedding.

On the morning of the wedding a pre-wedding breakfast was held at State View Hotel hosted by Mark and Shirley Ann Cotney, Seth and Monica Sargent, Whitney and Anne Odden, and Richard and Mary Sargent.

They have returned from a wedding trip to Hope Town Abaco, Bahamas, and are making their home in Norfolk.
