Will terrible roads greet Wilson tourists?

Every Sunday, my wife and I leave our Merck Road home and drive to services at First United Methodist Church. We travel into Wilson on Tarboro Street. We both occasionally laugh as we bounce down this awful-riding piece of asphalt.

I realize that our city leaders are presently more concerned with the whirligig park project than solving an evident problem. I would recommend that the thousands, maybe millions, of projected tourists who come to Wilson to visit the Vollis Simpson Whirligig Park come on planes and trains.

Driving their vehicles on these city streets will shake them senseless.

Come on, guys, fix the problem streets and worry about the multitude of tourists at a later time. Our city and county residents who use these streets daily deserve better.
